Colorado Association of Home Builders' Four Membership Tiers

Kurt Wiedt, Colorado

A graduate of Penn State University, Kurt Wiedt serves as principal of Markham Woods in Denver, Colorado. To help him remain up to date on changes made within the home building industry, Kurt Wiedt belongs to the Colorado Association of Home Builders (CAHB).

The CAHB, established in 1974, serves as an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders and has 10 local associations scattered across the state. Its 2,000 members, who hold jobs spanning the industry, collectively add $11.5 billion annually to the state’s economy. The organization advocates for them, offers educational opportunities, and supports the goals and activities of local associations.
Those considering membership may choose among different levels to find the right fit. Most members join their local home builders association and receive automatic membership into the CAHB.
* Affiliate Members. This category is for employees of associate and builder members; however, only select home builders associations offer affiliate memberships. Potential affiliate members should check with their local association to determine if they’re eligible.
* Associate Members. This level offers products and services to home builders. These items might include lumber, windows, and appliances.
* Builder Members. Ideal for those directly involved in building homes, this membership includes production builders, small-volume builders, and remodelers.
* Student Members. Students studying home building subjects at any level, from high school to university, can obtain this membership.
